How to make Almond Milk- Very Easy!

Make your own dairy free almond milk at home!

It's cheaper and healthier to make your own almond milk at home and you can have some almond flour as a bonus as well!

I'll admit that I always thought almond milk is a milk with almond flavour but recently found out that the only two ingredients you need are; almonds and water! Just soak the almonds overnight and the rest can be done in 10 minutes.
Don't worry about the exact measurements, a bit more water or more almonds doesn't make a such a big difference, but if you want it very intense just use less water. We make this on weekly basis and it's good in the fridge for 5-6 days.
  • Water (1 or 1.5 liters)
  • Raw whole almonds (1 glass-soaked overnight-between 12 to 24 h)
  • Blender
  • Cheesecloth (I bought mine at pharmacy- gauze bandage)
  • 1tbs sweetener such as xylitol, sugar, stevia or vanilla extract (optional)

Ps: The size of blender we have doesn't really allow to mix all at one go, so I usually take half of the almonds and around half litre water to mix, strain and repeat the same with the rest.

I was looking for a cheesecloth to make ricotta cheese and we found this gauze bandage at pharmacy (without any smell taste or any medicines on it), I washed it anyways with warm water and it works just fine every single time for straining.

Here is how to do it very easily!

That's really all! The almond milk is good in fridge for up to a week almost, if there is any left after the first couple days! (Shake it before using each time.)

You can right away bake some goodies with the wet almond pulp that you have on the cheesecloth or dry it in the oven with 170 degrees for couple hours and store it dry to use later on. 1 glass of almonds makes about 1 glass or a bit less almond flour.

(If you don't have time to bake or make almond flour, you may keep it in airtight food container in the fridge for 1-2 days)

I hope you will try this at home and if you have any questions leave a comment below.
